"I will second the review by odiesmommie. Tonight is the second time the shells have been broken in half, every single one of them. Tasteless seems to be an understatement."

"Betty must have re-set her ratings and reviews on this Slow Cooker Swiss Steak Supper - this has been a family favorite since I printed the recipe in 2006. It had a 5-star rating. I have everything I need to make it for today. When I am short on time I pre-cook the meat and veggies to some degree and heat the tomatos and gravy before adding to the crock-pot to cut the cooking time. I often add fresh, sliced mushrooms to the veggies. "

"Excellent! Not the usual crockpot fare where everything tastes the same. Used Russett potatoes I had on hand and low-fat beef gravy. Just before serving, I removed the meat and vegetables to covered dishes, poured the sauce into a heavy saucepan and thickened with cornstarch for a delicious gravy with a little salt and pepper. The sauce is more than enough for a 2-1/2 to 3 lb. round steak and extra veggies. We loved it, had enough leftovers for another meal."

"Very good. Easy to prepare. My family loves it, even my picky eater (no beef). I cut down on the seasoned salt and used a 14 oz. can of Italian seasoned diced tomatoes. The original recipe did not specify a tomato brand. At the end, I remove the meat and vegetables and thickened the sauce a little with corn starch. It makes a lot and worked well for a pot roast too."

"This cake is at it''s very best when refrigerated overnight, one hour or even four hours is not enough time for the milk to soak in. Even if you cut back on some of the milk it still needs overnight refrigeration. Use Cool Whip or whipped cream to top just before serving, anything else is too sweet. A shaved chocolate bar will dress it up without going overboard. I have also made a Devil''s Food cake version which is excellent. Our family loves it."
