I made this fully realizing it wasn't going to be like a traditional lasagna made with noodles. I used one pound ground beef and one pound bulk Italian Sweet Sausage adding sauteed chopped onions, green pepper and sliced mushrooms. In place of cottage cheese I used Ricotta. With these additions and substitutions we found the lasagna quite tasty and not bland or mushy as some who posted in their review found it to be. Substituting the Ricotta for the Cottage cheese may have helped with the mushy problem of the dish. Per my family's request I will definitely be making this again.
