"I made this for Books 2 Eat and featured it with Eric Carle's 10 Rubber Ducks. The cakes were auctioned off later in the day. I wasn't able to stay for the event so I don't know how it went, but everyone who saw it as I was setting it up loved it. Thanks for such an awesome design. I made it with white cake, lemon filling and also used yellow crusting buttercream for a smooth finish."

"It would not stay upright. I used the boxed mix but put crusting buttercream in between the layers. I'm not sure if that was the problem or not. People on a cake site I belong to suggested a denser cake so I'll try it again that way. I really do love the design. I ended up laying it down. It was for a Books 2 Eat project at the local library. I made it purple for Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse book by Kevin Henkes."

"Excellent design! I made this for a friend's granddaughter's 11th birthday. I tend to do the cakes in my own way, just using the template. The changes I made were to do a double layer cake. It was a marble cake with chocolate filling. I used fruit roll ups as cuffs too and purple detaling around the edges. I agree, for some who aren't used to frosting cakes, it may help to freeze it before frosting. My suggestion is to use a crumbcoat of thinned out crusting buttercream frosting. It does take more time but it's worth it."
