Chicken Broccoli Alfredo
"I have not actually tried this yet. But it is on the stove as done as it can be... and the sauce is much thinner than alfredo sauce should be. But I know the base to any good white sauce is making a Roux... which I thought was odd when I found flour missing from this recipe. So altho I followed the recipe, next time I will start with a roux... to do this all you do is add a 1/2 cup of flour to the melted butter before adding any other ingredient. It will then add your heavy cream, and let the roux melt and thicken the sauce before adding the cheese.... thats if you desire a thicker sauce. I will add another after I eat this it does SMELL DELICIOUS!!!"

"brandyann, you are so right I see this all the time on here. I havent tried this recipe either, but I am going to. It sounds like a delicious way to get the kids to eat some yummy veggies!! starladygs, I work in the field of nutrition, and recomended daily intake of sodium is 2500 a day, so the sodium content is a little high, but not outrageous and you can reduce the sodium by using low sodium sauce, as well as cheese which is where alot of the sodium comes from... point is try it and look at the labels of the items you buy for the ingredients, it may even be less sodium as I think that most of the nutrition info is approximates."

Made this recipe last night, I used chicken broth in place of the water... because the recipe is a little bland ... but it was fast easy and healthy, I got no complaints from thr family... so it is def a keeper for those nites that you have no time but crave a MEAL that is satisfying and healthy.

Made this for dinner tonight this is the first recipe I have tried off of the site. (of course I have bought the little cooking mags at the checkout of the grocery store over the years) I thought this meal was def one I will make again in the future. I had to use diced tomatoes, I did not have fresh on hand but this was very good, my kids even ate it.... they are picky.. wouldnt say it was a fav of theirs but they did not complain.... altho my son did ask for seconds.... would love to see more side suggestions with these recipes though!!!
