"It works better if you use what my gram used to call lianiased potatoes - fresh sliced potatoes that layer with shredded cheese (your choice of cheese - we used cheddar or a mexican blend); about a cup of chopped red or yellow onion; about a cup each of frozen green giant corn and string beans each. Pour 1 - 1-1/2 cup of milk half way up the casserole dish. Pop in the microwave oven for 20 minutes. Then pop into a 375 degree oven with sliced kielbasa on top for 20 minutes. Last 5 minutes turn on broiler and brown the kielbasa. Yum-o!"

"To Grannyfoster - yes - I made this without the nuts - I am not allergic - just don't like them. I used 2 Teaspoons Almond Extract flavoring in place of the nuts. That seemed to work out okay. But I had to use an extra 1/4 of Bisquick to replace the volume that you loose when you take out the nuts. It turned out very nice. I used a big dollop of Cool Whip on the top and everyone loved it."

"I agree - if you havn't made the food - then why write a review. And yes - Comfort food is high in calories - but who cares!! I made this recipe and took it to a pot-luck lunch. I was left with an empty casserole dish in under 8 minutes. Everyone loved it. At first I thought there was a bit to much milk - but not with the amount of cheese and types of cheeses used. This is Comfort Food at it's best!!! Will definately make it again - but will cut it in half for just my family of 2."
