"I have been making this for YEARS!!! back then in the 70's it was called California Burger Bake,I had a friend that when ever he visited he wanted me to make it, when I moved to The Keys he would bring me Jersey tomatoes to make!!! with tomato season on us now we WILL be eating this soon, the fresher tomatoes the better the taste,I sometimes will double the cheese, may combo cause the kids think of it as a type of pizza."

"I have made this recipe for 30 years! I first got it from an old bisquick book it was called California buger bake.the only thing different was it didn''t call for the chii powder, but now I will try that and change the cheese to Montery Jack,or how about don''t add the chili powder, and use pepperjack cheese, more for an adult taste! This has been a great favorite.Friends coming to visit me would bring their own tomatoes so I would make it!!"
