"Easy cake to make and I was happy I didn't need to buy a bunch of ingredients to decorate. I lined the bottom of the 9x13" pan with parchment paper so I wouldn't have to worry about the cake sticking when I removed it from the pan. Refrigerating the cake after frosting really helped keep the frosting smooth when the next layer was added. Instead of buying blue gel icing, I used some of the white frosting, and colored it blue for the minion's shirt. Like some of the other reviewers I couldn't find black string licorice, so I used black writing icing to outline everything, and for the goggle straps. The "hair" would have looked better sticking up, but it was still cute. Thanks to the idea of reviewer Marti769 (below), I used a regular sized, silver canning jar ring for the goggle. The frosted mint patty fit right in. Thanks for a great looking, easy to decorate cake. My 4 year-old birthday boy and I were very happy with the results!"
