Red, White and Blue Layered Flag Cake
"Made this cake for july 4th and it was a big hit. A few comments- this cake takes way more time to make than indicated. It took me about 6 hours to do. Second, the cake is expensive with all of the different ingredients. Last, to get the "star" look in the blue on the flag, i used half a bottle of white gem sprinke dots. while i got the look of the "stars" the taste of the dots was overpowering, and made the layer taste a little bit bitter. Overall, the look of this cake will impress your guests. And they will love it. If you want to cut down on costs, i would suggest just using food coloring for the different layers instead of the fruit. I will keep this recipe, but will only make it again for something really special. "

Raspberry Thumbprint Cookies
"Yummy! I made these using strawberry perserves and they were fantastic! My only tips are turn the heat in the oven down to 350 so they wont burn, and use preserves since they are much chunkier then jelly so they wont run off of the cookie. "

White Chocolate Macaroon Cookies
"MMMMMMMMMMM good! Fantastic Cookies! They were so coconut and buttery and melt in your mouth good! After I baked them, I spread the melted white chocolate on top of the cookies and sprinkled on toasted coconut. Delicious! I also baked them on 350 since 375 was burning the edges. Overall, love these cookies and will make them again!!!"

Chocolate Chip Scones
"Loved this recipe! These were the quickest and yummiest scones I''ve ever had! I used mini-chocolate chips instead and also used the lowfat/heart healthy biquick instead of the regular to further reduce the calories. Can''t wait to make this recipe again!"

Dreamy Cream-Filled Cupcakes
Rating:
Wow! That''s all I can say about these cupcakes. So simple, yet such a bit hit. What gives it the wow factor is the cream in the center. Everyone was so suprised and happy when they bit into it and saw the creammy inside. My one suggestion would be to add a coupler and wide metal pastry bag tip to the plastic baggie before filling it with the whip cream. This will make injecting the cream into the cupcakes much easier. If you don''t have the pastry bag tip, I''d recommend cutting a slit into the middle of the cupcake and then putting in the filling. I found this made it much easier to fill them. Overall, this was an awesome recipe and I will definetly make these again!

Chocolate Chip-Banana Pancakes
Rating:
Disappointing recipes. It tasted like something was missing, but I wasn''t quite sure what. Also the bananas kept the bottoms of the pancakes from browning when I flipped them over.

Sweet Country Cornbread
Rating:
Awesome recipes! It''s so hard to find sweet cornbread recipes. this one is definetly a favorite, and will be on my thanksgiving table every year. I added 1/2 a cup of no salt sweet corn in the recipe and it was delicious. My only advice is to use yellow corn meal if you want the bread to be yellow. I used white cornmeal and while it tasted delicious some of my guests were hestitant at first to try white cornbread. But overall this is a winner and took only a few minutes to make!
