Hot and Saucy Cocktail Meatballs
My Mom made these meatballs on special occassions during my childhood. I''ve been making them for my family and friends for over 20 years. My husband''s favorite way of having them served is in a boat of whipped potatoes with the sauce poured over all. A side of garden fresh salad and/or steamed veggies is also part of the menu. I have found that one jar of both chili sauce and grape jelly is plenty for two pounds of extra lean ground beef, but everyone''s taste is not the same so some may prefer more. I usually cook the meatballs in an electric skillet and remove them to drain on paper toweling. Then I lower the temperature, add the chili sauce and grape jelly and cook untill the jelly melts and the sauce is well combined and blended, before returning the meatballs to the pan. As an extra bonus, this recipe is very easy! It will have the beginner and experienced cook getting the raves they crave(pardon the pun)and desire.
