Bundt Pan Cake Removal
"After a few minutes on a cooling rack, I place my bundt cakes (still in the pan) upside down on a bottleneck. Coke bottles used to work great. Somehow they come out of the pan easier after this."

How to convert recipe from square pan to 13 X 9
"I'm all for doubling the recipe . . . if the 9 x 13 pan looks too full, eat the remaining batter!! I've been known to mix a brownie batter and eat almost the whole thing. It hasn't killed me yet (raw egg)."

"Allow me to agree with you - applesauce is a great substitute. It adds moisture, but not the heaviness oil can add. I have done it with cookie recipes too."

shortening substitute
"Hi. I recently made oatmeal cookies from an old recipe that called for a cup of shortening. I substituted 1/2 cup canola oil and 1/2 cup applesauce. They turned out great - cake like. I have often used this substitution. If you just use oil, I think you"
