"Beef base comes in a jar. It has a paste-like consistency. It also comes in chicken and vegetable flavors. I get mine at Penzey's Spices. You may be able to order online or find in local grocery stores. I usually have the chicken one on hand as it adds wonderful flavor to just about everything: chicken dishes, gravy, mashed potatoes, cooked veggies, homemade soups. You can keep it in the fridge and a jar of it lasts for a long time!"

"My husband and I love this go-to recipe! It is so versatile and a good vehicle for a lot of different ingredients. Great way to use up veggies from the fridge. Last night, I added a couple grated carrots to amp up to nutritional value. I usually add diced onion and extra garlic. We also use the reduced-sodium Ramen noodles, and I only use one seasoning packet instead of both. I save the other one to boost the flavor in homemade soups. Turkey pepperoni works great, and I use extra lean ground beef. DELICIOUS AND QUICK! "
