Slow Cooker North Woods Wild Rice Soup
"I have been making this soup for years. Please keep in mind that this is Wild Rice Soup, a cream-based "Lutheran" soup. It is very mild and comforting. It is not jazzy or exciting. It does the job to fill you up, but is not going to make you jump up and down (similar to Lutheran coffee.) I will agree with reviewers, that the recipe does need some revision. I add 4 1/2 c. of broth and only use a scant 1/4 c. flour. I also am probably heavy on the vegetables. This recipe is great with turkey, ham or chicken. I give it 5 stars because it is pretty good for the time I have to invest in prep work. That is worth at least one star!"

Slow Cooker Cheesy Potato Soup
"Based on the amount of time it takes - this one is a keeper. I add 1 t. dried thyme and 1/2 t. Tony Chachere's seasoning. Mine always comes out really thick, so next time, I will try eliminating the flour all together. I think it would be gluten-free then? It is not a "Wow, that is the best soup ever" recipe, but for the 10 minutes it takes for me to throw it together AND when everybody likes it - I can't go wrong."

Slow Cooker Fajita Pulled Pork Sandwiches with Avocado-Onion Slaw
"LOVED IT! I did pretty much everything the recipe asked but I was making it for a big crowd so I used 5 lbs of pork shoulder. The avacado slaw is a must! We had it with a latin veggie salad and lime cilantro rice. Will make again."

Buffalo Chicken and Potatoes
"Really yummy! I did make a few modifications. Used 2 lbs of potatoes since 6 c. left about one cup in the bag. Added 1 c. sour cream, 1/2 c. milk, 2 T. melted butter and 1 c. cheese to the potato mixture for added moisture and flavor. I also used blue cheese dressing, because ranch and buffalo together are just wrong! I tossed the chicken in the wing sauce and placed it UNDER the potatoes and sprinkled 1/4 c. panko on top. Bake for 1 1/2 hours. Delish!"
