"Linda, You are probably over mixing the dough..Use a fork & just mix to moisten all the mixture. Then, let it sit covered for about 10 minutes , make aure the stew is boiling when you drop them in. On the box is says cook 10 min. un-covered then 10"

"I remember standing on a chair helping my mom make Dumplings from Bisquick & being told, now dont over-mix it.. you want them to be fluffy & light! She'd cover the mixture with a cotton dish towel for about 10 minutes to let it rise. I am"
