Caramel Brownies Everybody LOVED these brownies. They are very gooey and really delicious. One thing I did differently was pour half of the brownie batter, then spread half the caramel, then poured the remaining batter and then topped it off with the remaining caramel. This allows you to taste the caramel better. Because the brownies are so gooey, one thing to watch out for is that a toothpick typically does not come out clean after the 40 min baking time. As long as the sides are set, the brownies will be fine. Just let them cool completely and then cut them.
