Italian Sausage Melt
My husband ate it, kids didn't. On the plus side, the bottom crust browned nicely and wasn't soggy. I was impressed. But overall, there were problems. I LOVE spicy hot food, but the hot sausage simply overwhelmed the recipe -- couldn't taste much else. The dish was wet and loose. Letting it rest longer didn't help because then the mozzarella cheese would firm up. And the amount of cheese was overkill -- looked like a blob of cheese when served. However, if I were to make this again, I'd substitute sweet Italian sausage...reduce alfredo sauce to 3/4 cup and mozzarella to 1/2 or 2/3 cup...and combine chopped onion with the green pepper. Therefore, I'll give recipe a second chance.
