"I think if I try this, I would use my red velvet cake recipe which is a real red velvet cake with cake flour, vinegar, coco powder, buttermilk. Then perhaps I would make a white cake mix and use buttermilk. I can use the same flavorings in both (butter, almond, vanilla) to get a good flavor. I think that would work better than german chocolate cake with red food coloring. That sounds disgusting, and silky texture would be missing "

"I made these today for 4th of July. It was 110 with the heat index so I didn't want to grill. I will say these were a great way to share ribs with my guest without slaving over a grill. Tho nothing replaces smoked ribs, these were pretty awesome. I cooked mine 10 hours and 1.5 with the sauce. I took some bottled sauce and hooked it up a lil adding spices and liquid smoke to the sauce and letting it simmer over before adding it.. I will definitely be making these again! excellent"
