"Made this tonight. It was pretty bland. I used sharp cheddar and 2% milk and added cooked bacon at the table, I used an amber lager for the beer. Still tasted like it needed salt and was okay at best. I don't think I'll be making this one again."

"Just made this today. Thanks lalanalla for the hint about cooking the onions on low overnight. I sliced them up and put them in the slow cooker with the melted butter before we went to bed, then added the other ingredients this morning. It was very, very good. I used 1/2 low sodium beef broth and 1/2 beef stock for added flavor and it wasn't salty at all (which is good, since we're watching our sodium here). I used vidalia onions and 4 Tbl of butter and flour. I would definitely make this again, would be impressive for company without a lot of work. "

"I made these last night and they are delicious! I used milk chips and andes baking bits, used slightly less extract and more green coloring to get a pretty green color. The dough was very stiff, so I used my hands to mix it, which worked well. I also had to increase the cooking time, but since I used a cookie scoop, they may have been larger than the recipe called for. Very simple to make and great results!"

"Made these last night. I changed the cinnamon to pumpkin pie spice and the filling to a cream cheese frosting, as one of the other reviewers had suggested (3 tbsp butter, softened, 4 ounces cream cheese, softened, 1 /2 tsp vanilla extract, and ~ 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, adjust to make proper consistency). I refrigerated the filling until it was nice and cold and also made half of the cookies small, so I have mini pies and full size ones. They are delicious! A bit hit with the family!"
