PB and Banana Cake Cookies
"Not sure how to rate a recipe I haven't tried yet. I've just seen this recipe while looking for a new way to use ripe bananas. Looks interesting, but why does it say "1 medium banana," & not a measurement? "Medium" could be different for everyone. Just concerned that not the right amount of banana (too much or too little), might make the cookies not turn out properly. Would it be possible to give a measurement? Thanks!"

Butternut Squash, Sausage and Bow Ties
"I made this dish a couple of months ago, when butternut squash was in season. I thought it was a good combination of flavors. I did replace the sausage w/ vegetarian sausage since I was making it for a vegetarian. Still good taste! I did have to cook the dish a bit longer than stated on the recipe, since the squash wasn't done enough. All in all, this will be one of my autumn dishes to make!"

Monkey Tail Bread
"I made this bread last month, as a Christmad present for someone w/ kids. It turned out well, though w/ my oven, I had to bake it several minutes longer than stated on the recipe. I got a good report back about the bread: my friend said that when his kids saw this bread, they said it didn't look like bread, it looked like a yummy dessert! And it was well-enjoyed by them all! I will definitely make this bread again, because I want to try it myself!"

Spiced Lemon Muffins
"Just made these muffins this morning. They were a great compliment to the fruit salad! My hubby loved them, & said he'd definitely like them again. They were very easy to make, soft, moist & tasty. I only made one change. I don't care for the taste of any type of zest, so I substituted lemon extract for the zest. For those of you who wish for more lemon flavor, try using lemon extract instead. The lemon flavor will definitely be noticeable, but not overpowering. I look forward to making these again! "

Pumpkin-Cranberry Pecan Bread with Tipsy Whipped Cream
"Just made this bread today. I doubled the recipe so we could have a loaf at home, & I could give a loaf to a family my husband knows. It turned out fine, though I had to increase the baking time at least 30 min. My husband told me his friends have already enjoyed the pumpkin bread..the dad had 3 pieces right away! We've also enjoyed some. A moist bread, with a great combination of pumpkin, pecans & cranberries. Will be making this again!"

Blueberry Cheesecake Bars
Rating:
Absolutely scrumptious! I made these a couple of months ago. I used fresh blueberries. They turned out great, & I took them to my church potluck, & they disappeared so quickly! I've been asked to make them again, but I told the person that they would have to wait until next year. I would only want to use fresh blueberries, & we don't get good quality ones here during the winter. This is definitely one dessert I'll be making next summer!

Caramel Apple-Nut Bars
Rating:
I followed some of the ideas I read in the reviews, & mine turned out great! I cut the butter (in the crust) to 1 cup, & increased the apples to 3 cups. I have made the recipe this way twice. Both times I got rave reviews, & ended up w/ an empty pan. I'll definitely be making this again!

Just made these to have before supper. We used "Silk" brand of chocolate soymilk. Delicious combination of chocolate & raspberries. My husband said "it tasted great!" We would definitely make this again.

Pastry for Pies and Tarts
Rating:
I rarely make pies w/ homemade crust, in part because I could never seem to make a good crust! However, I recently tried this recipe because I needed a lard-free pie crust. Thank you, Betty Crocker, for a recipe that a novice pie maker found very easy to use! I got more than one compliment on my tasty, flaky pie crust. I will definitely use this recipe again!

Slow Cooker Southwestern Chicken Chili
Rating:
I recently made this soup. First it was just for my husband & me. He's vegetarian, so I substituted a vegetarian "meat" for the chicken...we both enjoyed it! Then I made it for church potluck a couple of weeks ago. We have some church members who eat a vegan diet, so I found a vegan-based meat substitute to use the 2nd time. The only other change I made was to reduce the spice, since most of those I was making it for wouldn't have enjoyed it so spicy. The result??....it was a hit!! I received several compliments. Thanks for an easily-adaptable recipe! I will be making this soup again.
