Tamale Pot Pie
first of all, i rarely ever post anything anywhere cuz it just isn't worth it. that being said, i am a native south texan who just loves the december holiday season when homemade tamales complement the turkey, ham, etc or are just the meal.
this meal can be called tamale pot pie, but it still isn't a rose... heck as i shudder when i think even throwing a canned tamale (blasphemy there) would at least have one ingradient similiar to a tamale (btw ingradients would be masa, pork (90% of homemade and i mean real tamales. yes the varieties of bean and jalapenos can be good, but i have never even seen ground anything or olives in mexican food. yes tasty as taco bell can be taco bell is only inspired by mexican food. it is by no means like anything i would want if i was trying to find a taqueria anywhere in texas.)
so please put your cumino (cumin for catsup/hot sauce eaters:), and chil powder, nope not a tamale ingredient, but why call a ground beef casserole a tamale? diced tomatoes, too. please call a friend's abuela or tia, and have a fresh, hot, homemade tamale.
off to find a taqueria and get some good old tacos de chorizo con huevos or chilaquiles. i better get them while most folks don't know about them and a casserole is created here using few of their natural ingredients and people somehow feel their world of foods are really expanding.
