"Yes, milk will not do for the glaze, it has to be egg white; otherwise it makes for a delicious classic. Also five or six apples are aplenty, eight is too many. Since I was out of shortening I have used butter instead. It worked out just fine. Great recipe. "

Yes, milk will not do for the glaze, it has to be egg white; otherwise it makes for a delicious classic. Also five or six apples are aplenty, eight is too many. Since I was out of shortening I have used butter instead. It worked out just fine. Great recipe.
