I usually am expected to make apple pie for guests but this time I didn't want to have a lot left over so I made this crisp instead. Everyone seemed to like it a lot! I did peel the apples and served it with light whipped cream. Next time I will add some nuts to the topping. Sometime I will try it with blueberry/peach combination--and omit the nutmeg. I found this recipe in my old Betty Crocker cookbook which I received at my bridal shower 48 years ago.
