"Great recipe and so easy! No need to peel the apples, as you lose nutrients when you do. (Same for peaches!) Just ensure you wash the fruit and dice it, taking care to core or cut out any hard core remnants. Take it from this Cordon Bleu cook. No need to make recipes more difficult when you can short-circuit so many of these instructions and do so to your family's benefit! The only fruit I ever peel is bananas!"

"Great recipe! Please don't argue over what broth to use. Whatever you do, it will be terrific and your family will love it. I never use salt in anything so using a fresh carcass and water with the veggies is no sodium for us. Instead of the pasta, I throw in stuffing and it works great. Whatever you do, it's nourishing and feeds our families."

"annakaye, most of the sodium in this recipe comes from the cheese. Many people fail to realize just how very high in sodium cheese is. Try and low fat or no fat cheese and your sodium intake will be greatly reduced!"

"I made this cake yesterday and it is a huge hit with my family. I did double the amount of lime zest and I am glad I did. Even with it doubled, I feel it needed more and I will triple it next time. Terrific cake!"

Kathy, it is definitely the pre-made onion dip you buy at a grocer's. It contains sour cream and, of course, the onion flavoring. Please note that most any pre-made dip can be used in this recipe, depending on what flavor you enjoy. Avocado will not work so well, however, and the green coloring might be off-putting.

Well...I changed this a little. I used plain chocolate cake mix, plain instant chocolate pudding, plain milk & bittersweet chocolate chips. I added one teaspoon of vanilla. It was fabulous! The basic recipe is sweet enough for us without adding more sweet in the form of chocolate milk and semi-sweet chips. A bit of powdered sugar sprinkled on top & was perfect for serving to company but we decided to keep it for ourselves! Yummy!
