"I followed this as a guide, but changed it for what I had on hand (limited candies). I recommend using all mini loaves, and butcher one mini loaf to make the smokestack/engine house on the engine. The cut sides do NOT take frosting well -- I ended up just dumping the frosting/crumbled mess of the engine back into the 9x5 pan and using the two mini loaves I had left over (cookie pan could only fit 3 cars). I used the rest of the 5th loaf to make a tender, and put it right behind the engine so I wouldn't have to frost the raw edge. I used the left over pieces to crumble around the train as "dirt". We'll see tomorrow how my 3 year old likes this, but I'm pretty sure he will -- it's a train, and cake, and chocolate. :)"
