Slow Cooker Chicken and Vegetables with Dumplings Overall this a fine chicken and dumplings meal. I had to make embellishments to the recipe by adding a can of cream of chicken soup and only four cups of low salt fat free chicken broth. I also used two chicken breasted halves and cut them for even portions. Also… make sure all the potatoes are cut the same size to cook evenly; and that the onions, carrots and celery are cut small enough to cook completely.
