Cheesy Sausage and Penne Casserole
"I still can't believe how simple and delicious this recipe is! I made it last night following the recipe as is except that I used kielbasa instead of the smoked sausage since I prefer it. I will say that I was worried throughout the entire 30 minutes of prep. My husband had to keep reminding me of my own rule to stick to the recipe the first time I make something new and I'm glad he did because so many things seemed to be slightly off... The cheese sauce is extremely thick once you add the shredded cheese and I almost added some milk to thin it out, but didn't. I was also tempted to add extra noodles as well as sausage because it didn't seem like very much when it was in the bowl, but I'm glad I didn't! Everything was perfect and I'll definitely be making this dish again."

Layered Mac 'n Cheese with Ground Beef
"I was expecting this recipe to turn out like some sort of hamburger helper dish, but instead I ended up with something hamburger helper could only dream about being! The only variation I had was to use a combination of garlic and onion salt instead of regular salt when I seasoned my beef, and I also cut my bread slices with a knife as opposed to tearing them so they were little cubes. I also agree with one of the other reviewers that you DEFINITELY need extra bread toasted for on top, that was my favorite part of the dish!"

Fresh Blueberry Almond Tart
"I made this last weekend and was a bit confused on the directions because it calls for one box of pie crusts, however there are two crusts in the box! I ended up with two tarts and there seemed to be plenty of blueberry filling in both with the amounts the recipe calls for, however I had to double the amount of almonds so there was enough to go on top of both. Delicious!"

Burger and Veggie Packs
"This is one of my husband's favorite meals! We skip all the other vegetables and just add frozen corn (off the cob) and a pat of butter on top before wrapping them up. I serve it with some baked beans on the side and it's excellent!"

Potato-Topped Oven Swiss Steak
"I made this last night and it was very good! I felt I used too much mashed potato, though I didn't have the bags on hand specified in the recipe so I just made eight servings of instant Idahoan mashed potatoes. Next time I'd probably do four. Also, it was a bit bland for my taste so as an afterthought I added garlic salt but next time I'll definitely add it before it goes in the oven."

Blueberry-Banana Bread
"The only banana bread recipe I'll ever use again!! I followed this recipe as written, except that I used three bananas instead of two (since that's what I had on hand) and I used regular oats (since I didn't have any quick cooking). They came out perfect! After reading some reviews I almost cut the sugar in half, but I figured I'd do it by the book the first time and make any changes if needed in the future. That being said, I'm glad I didn't! They have just the right amount of sweetness following the original recipe. Also, I made mine into muffins instead of a loaf for the sake of convenience. I baked at 325 (my oven runs hot) for 25 minutes and they were cooked throughout and just a little golden on top. My husband and I love them and I can't wait to have my mother try one when she comes over in the morning!"
