Sauerbraten Meatballs
"A good recipe, but not as flavorful as I'd hoped. This one would require some tweaking to "bring it up a notch"."

Grilled Chicken with Chipotle-Peach Glaze
"I don't have a grill, so I sauteed this in a skillet on the stove. My husband told me more than once during dinner how much he liked the chicken. It has a very nice sweet-hot flavor."

Double-Chocolate and Caramel Bars (Cookie Exchange Quantity)
"I just took these to a gathering this evening, and they were a hit. I did want something nut-free, so I replaced the walnuts with toffee bits."

Turtle Tart
"I had to use my 11 inch tart pan, and I still had to press down the cookie crust before I could add the filling. I also chose to use bittersweet chips instead of milk chocolate, but dark is simply my preference. My mother and I both loved the result! It is very rich, but that's the way I like my desserts."

Indulgent Chocolate Torte
"When I read "Indulgent" I expected rich chocolatey flavor. I was greatly disappointed. The texture is not appealing either."

Mexican Shepherd’s Pie
"This is a good, but not "stand out" recipe. I think I don't really care for the texture of the boxed mashed potatoes. A substitution for those should greatly improve the recipe."

Chocolate Chip Dream Bars
"I took this to a gathering where it was a big hit - had several requests for the recipe. However, if I were making this just for myself, I'd replace all the milk chocolate chips with bittersweet."

Chocolate-Stuffed Peanut Butter Brownies
"The peanut butter flavor really doesn't come through. I do, however, admit that I did not use a "natural" peanut butter. Maybe one of those would result in a stronger PB flavor?"

One-Pan Pasta and Meatballs

Italian Sausage Melt
"This one just will not work for my family. I thought it was good, but nothing special. My husband and oldest son just picked the sausage out to eat and left the rest. My other 3 youngsters wouldn't even touch it, even though I left the tomatoes off theirs!"

Caramelized-Onion Focaccia Wedges
"I thought this needed more onions. When I make it again I will double the onions. Can't get enough of those carmelized onions!"

Chocolate Chip Truffle Bars
"I thought I'd switch colors and use cream cheese frosting and chocolate covered pretzels. Then I went to make them and read the directions closer. I still added the chocolate chips (after all, chocolate plus cream cheese equals chocolate cheesecake, right?) My seven year old pronounced them "THE BEST!", and I enjoyed them as well."

Shrimp Salad Italiano
"I could not find pre-cooked salad tortellini, so I bought a 19 oz. bag of frozen cheese tortellini and cooked about half of it instead. I also put in only about half the red onion called for, because those things can be overpowering sometimes. I used light Italian dressing and didn't measure. I just poured in what seemed to be the right amount to coat everything. Then I chilled it until dinner time. My husband pronounced it excellent!"

Pizza Turnovers
"I liked being able to sneak some carrots in on the kids, and you really can't taste them. My husband complained that there's too much bread and not enough filling (his complaint for every filled dough recipe I've tried), but I'll most likely use this recipe again to have with the kids, even though one wouldn't eat his until I opened it for him."

Ham Bagels with Honey-Mustard Cream Cheese
"These sandwiches are good, but not special enough to make it on our list of "keepers". I think the cream cheese dulled the honey mustard flavor too much for my taste."

Potato, Broccoli and Sausage Skillet
"The salsa seemed out of place in this recipe, and I hadn't eaten the boxed potatoes in years. Now I remember why: They simply cannot compare to fresh potatoes."
