"My grandmother always made her fried chicken using Bisquick. She'd dredge the chicken in Bisquick, brown it in a cast iron skillet, then put it in a roasting pan, add water, cover and bake until it fell off the bone. Made its own gravy and everything"

"Rather than use preserves, I'd suggest using dried fruit - apricots, cherries, raisins, mixed berries - whatever suits your taste. Then just bake as you usually do. You could soak the fruit in rum or some other liquor to plump them up and add some"

"We did an interesting lunch at our bridge club. Everyone brought her favorite salad bar ingredient, the hostess provided a LARGE bowl of lettuce/mixed greens, dressings and some rolls. It was wonderful and easy since you only had to prepare one thing"

"Thanks. I found that link but all those recipes call for filled cakes or use the insert to create a frosted internal layer. I'm want to use the pan without the insert - no filling! - to get the shape of the cake that I want. Just wonder how to adapt"
