This is - by far - one of the best cake mixes I have ever used. It is a hit every time I make it! For the mousse, I add whipping cream instead of milk and it fluffs right up and tastes fantastic. I usually create 3 layers and put a thick amount of mousse in between the layers and use regular icing on the outside of the cake. The mixture of mousse and icing makes it just right - not too sweet. My only critique would be to add more mousse mix to the box so I wouldn't have to use the icing at all.

Tried the cake last summer for a friends party, everyone loved it cause its not as sweet and very moist, the frosting is very light. Everytime I see the mix at any store I buy the entire supply, I make cup cakes with the mix for kids party and everyone is requesting for the same cake. But now I can't find the mix anywhere. I just bake my last box of cake mix with my 4 and 6 year old granddaughters. They love making cup cakes with this cake.

This was nice because it was not as sweet as most mixes and frostings. The frosting is basically pudding...just ok imo. I thought the cake was dry as well.

Please tell me how much milk is needed for the mouse? The box was thrown away before I was able to make it. Thanks!

Bought a chocolate mousse cake in Mexico. The directions on the back are for al cinnamon cake. Please give me the directions for the Chocolate Mousse Cake. It looks so good. Very frustrated.

Saw this in a holiday display and decided to try it. Glad I did!! The topping/filling was light and creamy smooth. The cake is dense but still light and melts in your mouth. No over powering sickly sweet taste either more refined. This is a keeper!! Please don't stop making this....

I love this cake mix, especially for the frosting. I've had people as me for the recipe and I'm tempted to say it's mine, but can't lie about frosting so I fess up and admit that it's Betty Crockers.

This was great! Used 1% milk for the Mousse, thickened up perfectly. For a box mix - this was a major hit without a ton of work!

WORST cake mix I ever tried! I rarely use box mixes and this is the reason why. The "mousse" never got thick - I even tried adding confectioners sugar and it was absolutely unrecoverable. The cake was marginal at best. Betty, Betty, Betty - I'm sure you can do better
