I'm sorry, but I have to agree with the others - the sauce is not something that I want to buy. Decades ago, when I started using it, it was chilies, then tomatoes were added, and now you have to add so much chili powder and seasoning to it, you might as well make it from scratch.

YUCH!! I have been buying this product for many years and used to like it. I just made enchiladas with a new can (dated 2010). What a lousy product! They ruined it. Wasn't deep, dark red like it used to be. I tasted it and it was... TOMATOES!! Where'd the chili go?? And it was THIN, like pouring tomato water over the enchiladas. I had to add my own chili powder to make it taste even close to enchilada sauce. I will NEVER buy this product again. I'll try to find another brand or make my own.

Terrible sauce!!! so disgusting! A red sauce for enchiladas NEVER never ever have tomato puree in it!! Its usually made with two types of chiles "rojo" and "pasilla", these two chiles gives the sauce such a rich flavor, that the old el paso enchilada sauce doesn't have at all! And it is also soooo thin!! what is that?? The enchilada sauce it's supposed to be thick and VERY red, not this orangy pitiful color. If you're looking for a replacement I recomend LAS PALMAS it's a bit better. I would never buy this sauce again. Period And yes, I'm from Mexico.

I agree with lifesajourney29! I haven't used your mild red sauce in a while, but after trying to make enchiladas with it last night, I won't use it again. Absolutley no taste and so thin, it was pitiful. And the can is smaller. I used to be able to make 12 enchiladas and use one can of sauce. Now it barely covered six of them. Shame on you for wrecking a good product!

This sauce used to be the best in the world as my family has enjoyed it for many years but the new recipe has made it so bland that I can't even enjoy it anymore. I am up for change as it generally improves a product but in this case it was for the worse. This is the second time in several years that I have noticed Old El Paso change the recipe from thick red to thinner red to now a watery orange color. I am now left with such bland flavor in this sauce that I have felt forced to look for a replacement sauce on the market. Please bring back the old flavor. My family misses it.
