We just had the Crunchy Taco. I did open the "chips", did smell bad and decided "no" not going to eat them or give them to my family! Used our regular corn chips and it was a hit! My husband and son each had 2 helpings! Will purchase again.

I know I'm in the minority here, but my son and I LOVE this Cheesy Taco Hamburger Helper. It turns out right every time and is very tasty. Love the "taco shell" crunch the chips add, and the yummy, smooth cheese sauce poured over them seal the deal.

I love this! I make it as directed, however, we don't eat the chips either. I buy regular tortilla chips. Also, I also add a couple of tablespoons of ranch to mine. My two small daughters love the ranch as well. :)

Darn, not liking what I'm seeing here..lol Never tried this one, and it appeared about the same time the most excellent beef taco disappeared :(. Wish they'd bring THAT one back, WITH the old cheese packet.

I have made a lot of hamburger helper in my life, but this one was horrible. Even the stray dog wouldn't eat it. the chips smelled & tasted chemically and yet stale. And the rest of the meal tasted just as bad.

I made a box of this junk last night...my husband who normally devours helper didn't even bother to come at this. A few bites and he was done. When I opened the bag of chips they smelled of chemicals/melted barbie doll hair? I like a few others, assumed it was the plastic bag, I dumped it into the mix and after putting into bowls and they were somewhat mixed in, i tasted the end result and to my delight the whole bowl tasted how I imagine a bowl full of melted plastic would taste. Yuck. I sure would like to know what it was I was eating..

This is a favorite in my house. I use all water and no milk. I throw away the cheese topping. I add extra rice and water. sometimes I add a little taco seasoning. It depends on how much extra rice I put in it. After it is done I pour into a baking dish and sprinkle with mexican cheese all over the top. Put in the oven till cheese is melted. We have Lightly Salted Tortilla Strips and sour cream with it. I do not put the chips in my dish.

Yuck! What's waste of good hamburger! When I opened the bag of chips, they smelled rancid or old or stale. And, they tested even worse. And, an hour later and I still have a foul taste in my mouth. I can't believe there are so many complaints about these chips. Why not just suggest topping the dish with your own chips. I wish I had. I am hoping I don't get sick. I plan on contacting the company directly, some how. And a coupon won't make me want to buy it again.

Your cheesy nacho hamburger helper was disgusting. Normally my one year old devours all types of hamburger helper but this one she fed to the dogs.

I use this product alot but always check and throw the chips away. They vary in taste and smell from just stale to foul and rancid. I substitute plain fritos. I like to use the juice from a large can of diced tomatoes for part of the water. I add the tomato solids, one can drained corn, and one can drained black beans. These extras are added the last 5 minutes of cooking.
