This is my absolute favorite Hamburger Helper, and I haven't been able to find it in stores for a very, very long time. None of the Walmart Supercenters, Walmart Neighborhood Markets, or Crests seem to carry it any longer. Extremely disappointed, especially since I don't like the noodle ones nearly as much and rarely buy them.

I live in Canada and was brought up on the Potato Stroganoff and it is now impossible to find it any where that I know of. I have checked every store that is around me along with having friends look for it. the last time I had it my son in-laws aunt found it in the States and brought me home 2 boxes. Why is it so hard to find. oh and I can find it on Amazon I am not the only one in my family who loves it but cant find it.

This is my second favorite flavor. I always pick this one up when I go to my primary shopper and the cheesy baked potato at another place. The other place doesn't carry this and my primary doesn't carry the cheesy. I wish I could get both at my primary it would make things a lot simpler.

My Safeway store isn't carrying any of the potato hamburger helpers. We don't like the pasta ones. I'll request from Safeway, but if they don't get it in I'm not running around town trying to find it. You've lost this customer. Listen to your customers and bring them back!

My girlfriend loves this stuff...the only kind she likes actually. She was pretty cranky when we couldn't find it anywhere....so I came up with a plan! If you buy the Beef Stroganoff, it has the same sauce. Buy a box of scalloped potatoes and use the potatoes from that. Follow the recipe as usual and there you have it! I scored some big brownie points with this idea! :)

Bring back the old Hamburger Helper Original Potatoe Stroganoff with the rich brown sauce, it was the best!! Do not like the white sauce!

Best hamburger helper out there, and now can't find any stores that carry it. lynnlky the one you are thinking about is probably the cheesy hashbrowns.

Just wanted to let everyone know you can order this from AMAZON. I used to like a potato hamburger helper with cheese and potatoes but I'm not sure this is it. Doesn't seem like the older version said stroganoff on it. I am going to try it tonight and see how it tastes.

This makes the best adult Hamburger Helper meal ever with just a few modifications: substituting red wine for half of the water, using buttermilk in place of milk, adding mushrooms and onion, and finishing with non-fat sour cream. 1) Using a large skillet, brown hamburger and drain in a paper towel lined bowl. 2) In the same skillet, at medium-high heat, throw in 2a) 3/4 pound of mushrooms, halved and medium sliced; and, 2b) 1 onion, quartered from pole-to-pole, and sliced crosswise 1/8 - 1/4 inch thick, seasoning lightly with salt to help the vegetables release water. 3) When the mushrooms and onions have released their water add 3/4 cup of red wine (I use Cabernet but you can use a fruitier wine if desired) and allow to reach a simmer for 1 minute to evaporate the alcohol. 4) Add remaining ingredients in order: reserved hamburger, powdered mix, 3/4 hot water, 2 cups buttermilk and potatoes. Mix thoroughly. Bring to a rapid simmer over high heat stirring frequently. Cover with a tight lid and reduce heat to simmer for 23 minutes, stirring occasionally. 5) At the end of cooking time ensure potatoes are tender, adding more simmer time if necessary. 6) Remove from heat and let stand uncovered for 5 minutes, stirring once at the 3 minute mark. Stir in 1/2 to 1 cup of non-fat sour cream to taste. Season to taste with salt and pepper, or nutritional yeast for a deeper flavor, and serve.
