I love hamburger helper but usually had to spice it up...If it taste plain I've come to realize if you sub. hamburger with one roll of hot sausage it comes out perfect every time without adding anything! -Just a suggestion

We love the line of hamburger helpers, my family gobbles them up. I made the cheddar cheese melt variety tonight with double the hamburger meat to stretch it a bit. I was disappointed at the amount of noodles in the box - there is no way that will suffice for all 4 of us so I added a few handfuls of egg noodles to the pan and it turned out great.

This is the best flavor of the whole Helper line. Like another reviewer mentioned Betty Crocker has messed with the formula and included less noodles. A good solution, especially if you want but can't find the Tuna Melt flavor, is to just add a can of tuna instead of beef and your meat/noodle ratio is pretty good. You'll still end up with less servings but this is so tasty. Real comfort food. What makes it is the small flat lasagna-style noodles instead of the elbow macaroni in the Tuna Melt variety. It's great to get some over-cooked cheese in between two noodles...kind of like the crust around some homemade mac 'n cheese. Highly recommend this but keep in mind Betty Crocker stupidly decided to remove all microwave directions from the Helper boxes. Check online for the old directions and cut the water and milk measurements in half if you are using tuna.
