I went to a very nice Bakery/Pastry shop to see if I could get a Gluten/free cake for my husband's 60th Birthday Party(he was diagnosed 5 months ago and REALLY misses good baked goods). No such luck -- so I pulled out the box of Betty Crocker gluten free chocolate cake from my pocketbook and asked if they could make it with this. They were very accommodating and made a beautiful (and tasty) cake and everyone at the party agreed that it was delicious and couldn't believe it was gluten-free.

While this mix is much better taste-wise than the GF yellow cake mix, I still have to add a package of chocolate pudding to keep it moist enough or it gets dry and crumbly really fast. I do appreciate the convenience and safety of these baking mixes, but they are overwhelmingly overpriced. This mix makes half the amount of cake you get from one of your regular mixes, I have to doctor it up with pudding and extra eggs, and yet it costs at least four times as much. You are taking advantage of the celiac/gluten free community and their lack of choices and convenience with these outrageous prices. Add pudding into your mixes and double their size and it will be worth the price to me.

I just made my niece a cake for her 7th birthday using this product. The cake used in a 9x9 pan, was a little thinner than i was wanting, so i made 2 layers(in the future i will make a double batch)poked holes in it and then drenched it in caramel topping, covered it with coolwhip & topped it with chopped up toffee candy bar. EVERYBODY loved it and she was thrilled to have a delicious, "regular" GF cake. THANK YOU so much for making the cake makers job so easy:) all of your GF products are wonderful!!

I love this cake mix! I just developed a Gluten allergy 2 yrs ago and almost cried over this cake. It tastes just like "regular" devil's food cake. Thank you Betty Crocker!!!

LOVED your mixes UNTIL you changed them by adding soy flour. Bad mistake. Will be going back to a trustworthy gf mix for gluten free, dairy free, soy free mixes. As one of the top 8 allergens, it's not wise to add soy. Why'd ya have to go and mess up a good thing? I'm pretty disappointed. FYI - I was a loyal customer who bought all of your mixes. Looking for a new option for my kiddos upcoming b-day.

I can't thank Betty Crocker enough for the Gluten Free range. I read how many recipes had been tested and rejected...welcome to our world. At times some of the previously tested mixes we tried were so awful, my son suspected I was trying to poison him. We have tried the BC Devils Food twice and my son loves it. He also has an egg allergy, so I just used the mix and buttermilk, nothing else. It has turned out so well we can't wait to try the other mixes. Please don't stop looking to add to the Gluten Free Range... bread mixes would be a popular move. Grateful Thanks Joan

the cake mix was great, both flavors. Wow,Making it was easy and my family enjoyed it. (To keep it fresh longer try putting a cut apple in the container.) My friends couldn't tell it was gluten free until I told them. GOOD JOB! Can't wait for the next product they come up with.

I have used the Gluten Free chocolate cake twice now and have gotten very good remarks on the taste. One of the cakes I just made over the weekend and also had another brand on the second level - well Betty Crocker won hands down on texture and flavour. I will continue using Betty Crocker Gluten Free mixes from now on. I would love to be able to buy them on-line too.

I made the mix as cupcakes tonight and they are amazing. I have Celiac disease so finding tasty pastries can be frustrating... these tasted just like "real" food, and I can't let my husband know they are really good or he'd eat all of them. Great job BC!
