I made these to shape them, but they are too wet/sticky to shape.

I just tried to cut out cookies and had to add so much flour to it to get it to not stick to my counter I wound up throwing it our completely because I was afraid they would taste aweful. I have read reviews that people have made cut outs with no problem and so I'm not sure why these turned out so aweful.

I just made cutout cookies with no problems. The dough wasn't sticky and rolled out fine. My recipe called for 1/3 stick of butter, not a whole stick. Maybe the recipe has changed on the back of the mix.I put a little flour down flipped it to flour both sides and then just rolled it out. The cutouts didn't stick to the counter and they baked up perfect. I love Betty Crocker cookie mixes. The Snickerdoodle's are great too!

I just made the best batch of snickerdoodles with the sugar cookie mix. Make according to directions, roll into balls (1-1.5 inches), roll in cinnamon/sugar mixture and coat completely. Place on cookie sheet and press down with bottom of glass. I baked them exactly 8 minutes and they were perfect. Not sure how the recipe is otherwise, but these cookies are outstanding. No kidding!!

Something new in the mix and not sure what it is --- lots of teeny little hard bits throughout the dry mix I bought yesterday (2 packages). What are they?

I also agree with San Ramon. I do not know what the little flakes in the dough are but I do not like the new recipe. I always had plenty of these mixes on hand for semi homemade desserts but I really no longer feel they stand up to their name. I hope they see these posts and go back to their original recipes.

I must agree 100% with Baking San Ramon. I thought it was just me but these used to be the easiest, best, no-fail cookie mix to buy. The cookies always came out perfect, whether you just dropped spoonfulls onto the baking sheet or made cut-out cookies - perfect every time. However, the last 3-4 times I bought and baked them - what a nightmare. Either they were too gooey/sticky and came out either too soft or too crispy, or, I'd try adding a little bit of flour and they came out of the over too hard, etc. I tried everything, thinking that I was doing something wrong. Now I feel better to know that I am not the only one who noticed that the product has definitely changed. Why would they fix something that wasn't broken?? What a shame! I was actually looking on this website to see if there was another recipe for these cookies as I mixed up some this a.m., but now, I don't think that I will waste anymore time on them. Thanks for the feedback.

One of the worst ever I tried to make drop cookies and it was just sticking everywhere I'd have to say the prep is horrible I feel that you have to put too much butter and stuff just stick wig jiffy also it comes out too sweet it was. So sweet my mom told me to give it to my freinds but they said it was the best cookie ever They were shocked to know I made it tho

I bake all the time. I have bought over 100 bags of this cookie mix since they started making it. Used to be the best ever, but now it is awful! Used to have directions to melt one stick of butter and mix it with the bag contents, and it was PERFECT! Every time. I love eating cookie dough too, and it used to taste soooo good. Then I started noticing little flakes of something in the mix, and it gave it a weird texture. Then I noticed that the recipe has changed to have softened (not melted) butter and to add an egg. All I can say is this recipe is now awful(and I've tried over 10 times to make it work!). The dough tastes ok, but even worse, it never bakes right. It is always too soft and the cookies flatten out and get too crispy. I've tried modifying the dough ball size, etc, but NOTHING works. It is terrible, mostly because this recipe was so good before. It was always perfect. My Mom and I were talking about it last night, and she said the same thing! She also buys the chocolate chip and the peanut butter and she said she is having the same problem. I guess I have to give up on this product now. Unless it is changed back, I won't be buying it any more. The cookies I make from scratch are so much better. These used to be comparable but not any more. Not even close. Too bad it was changed.

i made the drop cookies. i was playing around with ideas so i took some of the batter and rolled them in cinnamon and sugar and and turned them into snickerdoodles. some i rolled in sprinkles. ---both surprisingly very good! i even played around with some of the batter and added frozen raspberries and whipped up some bar cookies. not bad
