I used this cookie mix for the first time and I must say it is a hassle. The dough is too sticky and the cookies are too hard. No matter what I did it wasn't enough. I doubt I will use this again..

Is BC Sugar Cookie Mix nut free? Made in a peanut free facility? I'm preparing holiday cookies for a child with a severe nut allergy.

I used two of the larger bags, used 1/2 butter and 1/2 butter flavor Crisco baking sticks, added a lot of vanilla extract, added 1 bag choc chips, about 8oz tiny peanut butter cups, about a cup of Reese's pieces, and 2 3oz boxes of Nestle buncha Crunch....I chilled the dough and then scooped and patted it into two 9 1/2 x 13 pans, ungreased, and baked it at the temperature in the instructions (I think 375)....about 30 minutes.....they baked up perfect .... they looked too soft in the middle but once they cooled they were just right...and the borders were a little crunchier. These cookies went soooo fast at work....I had never used a mix for cookies before, but now will try ALL B.C. cookie mixes.

I made these to shape them, but they are too wet/sticky to shape.

I just tried to cut out cookies and had to add so much flour to it to get it to not stick to my counter I wound up throwing it our completely because I was afraid they would taste aweful. I have read reviews that people have made cut outs with no problem and so I'm not sure why these turned out so aweful.

I just made cutout cookies with no problems. The dough wasn't sticky and rolled out fine. My recipe called for 1/3 stick of butter, not a whole stick. Maybe the recipe has changed on the back of the mix.I put a little flour down flipped it to flour both sides and then just rolled it out. The cutouts didn't stick to the counter and they baked up perfect. I love Betty Crocker cookie mixes. The Snickerdoodle's are great too!

I just made the best batch of snickerdoodles with the sugar cookie mix. Make according to directions, roll into balls (1-1.5 inches), roll in cinnamon/sugar mixture and coat completely. Place on cookie sheet and press down with bottom of glass. I baked them exactly 8 minutes and they were perfect. Not sure how the recipe is otherwise, but these cookies are outstanding. No kidding!!

Something new in the mix and not sure what it is --- lots of teeny little hard bits throughout the dry mix I bought yesterday (2 packages). What are they?

I also agree with San Ramon. I do not know what the little flakes in the dough are but I do not like the new recipe. I always had plenty of these mixes on hand for semi homemade desserts but I really no longer feel they stand up to their name. I hope they see these posts and go back to their original recipes.

I must agree 100% with Baking San Ramon. I thought it was just me but these used to be the easiest, best, no-fail cookie mix to buy. The cookies always came out perfect, whether you just dropped spoonfulls onto the baking sheet or made cut-out cookies - perfect every time. However, the last 3-4 times I bought and baked them - what a nightmare. Either they were too gooey/sticky and came out either too soft or too crispy, or, I'd try adding a little bit of flour and they came out of the over too hard, etc. I tried everything, thinking that I was doing something wrong. Now I feel better to know that I am not the only one who noticed that the product has definitely changed. Why would they fix something that wasn't broken?? What a shame! I was actually looking on this website to see if there was another recipe for these cookies as I mixed up some this a.m., but now, I don't think that I will waste anymore time on them. Thanks for the feedback.
