Everyone loves warm summer nights, spending time with friends and sharing great food––especially at a picnic!
We've created two picnic baskets to take along to an outdoor movie screening: one for a family with kids and one for a romantic date night.
Kid-Approved Picnic Basket
Veggie Sandwich
Start with sandwich thins and cut them into different shapes. For extra fun, personalize it to the movie––a fish for an underwater adventure, a dinosaur for a Jurassic thriller or a spider for your favorite super hero flick.
Next comes the fun part: packing and assembling. We're toting our veggies in an egg carton lined with mini foil baking cups. (How cute is that?) Just before the show starts spread on the cream cheese, decorate and voilà: the perfect picnic sandwich.
Fresh Fruit Fro-Yo Pops
Frozen yogurt pops are our favorite summer treat. We've made these pops with Yoplait® yogurt, a touch of honey and fresh fruit. Get extra cool and mix up the color and flavor to customize your own pop. Tip: Pack in a freezer bag with ice to keep them from melting.
Popcorn Mix
It wouldn't be movie night without the popcorn! But we’re not settling for just any popcorn. We've created a sweet mix with cinnamon and sugar and a spicy mix with chili powder and beef jerky. Just pack them up in these cute bags and you're ready to go!
Chocolate Granola Thin S'mores
Don’t forget the s’mores! Make these up before hand and bring along as dessert––no campfire necessary. These are made with crunchy chocolate granola squares and toasty marshmallows, so you know they’re good.
Date Night Picnic Basket
Banh Mi Bites
You can make these ahead and bring them along or put them together at the picnic. Start with French bread and pile on cucumbers, chicken, carrots and cilantro then drizzle with the spicy sriracha dressing for extra zing.
Grilled Vegetable and Farro Salad
This grilled vegetable and grain salad is a great addition to any picnic basket. It has a light, flavorful dressing and it’s delicious both hot or cold. Can’t beat that!
Sweet Potato Hummus
Hummus is another great thing to take on a picnic. This is a fresh version made with sweet potatoes, almond butter and lots of great spices. Serve it up with hearty crackers and pre-cut vegetables.
Mini Blueberry Buckle Pie
And now for the grand finale: dessert. These fresh blueberry pies are made with an irresistible coconut crumble that takes them from delicious to wow. But the best part of all is that they’re mini so you don’t have to share!
