Taste Test: Old El Paso Roasted Tomato Mexican Cooking Sauce
A simple substitution adds authentic, slow-simmered depth to a 30-minute one-pot pasta dinner.
The product: Old El Paso Roasted Tomato Mexican Cooking Sauce
What we made: To give this cheeseburger casserole a south-of-the-border twist, we substituted a pouch of Old El Paso’s Roasted Tomato Mexican Cooking Sauce for the plain tomato sauce called for, and omitted the ketchup and mustard.
What we thought: We found another recipe for our weeknight dinner playbooks! While the all-in-one-pot preparation scored major points, the richness of the cooking sauce really made this dish sing. Adding an authentic, slow-simmered depth to a 30-minute dinner, swapping in the sauce was an easy substitution we can’t wait to try again.
