Holiday Kids' Table

Created November 16, 2022
All it takes is a few easy additions to ensure the kids’ table is the place to be this Thanksgiving season. With crafty activities, creative games and kid-friendly snacks, you might find the kids deciding they never want to “graduate” to the grown-up table.
Holiday Kids’ Table Ideas

Before Dinner

  • Let the kiddos create their own place cards and encourage them to get creative with stamps, stickers, coloring tools, etc.
  • Grab some cloth napkins and let them compete to see who can fold the most convincing turkey.
  • A few small snacks go a long way in keeping kids satisfied until the main event. Our favorites are cheese crackers and Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks.

During Dinner

  • Cover the table with brown kraft paper beforehand and set out cups filled with markers and crayons so your young guests can doodle throughout the meal.
  • Keep everyone occupied throughout the meal with Betty’s free activity kit filled with 12 games and puzzles kids of every age will enjoy.
  • Have the kids capture what they’re thankful for with a few disposable cameras. The pictures will be fun for them to take, and even more fun to see developed.

After Dinner

  • Set out bowls filled with festive candies and sprinkles so the kids can create their own turkey cupcake and brownie masterpieces!
  • Assign a few “official” cleaner-uppers to oversee the kids’ table cleanup. Clean-up may not be perfect, but they’ll love feeling treated like a grown-up. If the kids are a little too young to help with cleaning up, pop on one of many holiday-themed movies to keep them happily entertained.
  • Serve a special kids’ table drink like Cinnamon Cider. Bring this out when the grownups are enjoying their after-dinner coffee or cocktail/mocktail.

What are your plans for the kids’ table? Have some successful tips of your own? We’d love to hear them! Share them with us @BettyCrocker.
