Created January 10, 2017
This year, make rich holiday barks out of chocolate and your favorite cereals.

If you’re looking for a fun holiday baking activity this season, might we suggest these sweet and crispy, oh-so-easy holiday cereal barks? All you’ll need are a few simple ingredients and your favorite cereals.

First, microwave almond bark (you can also use vanilla chocolate chips) and chocolate chips in two separate bowls for 15-30 second intervals until they begin to melt. Stir until smooth, returning to microwave as needed to fully melt chips. Next, spread the different chocolate mixtures on waxed paper and sprinkle with favorite cereals. We used Lucky Charms, Golden Grahams, Fruity Cheerios and Trix on on our cereal barks, and then made a vanilla version strictly with Cookie Crisp.

Return your creations to the freezer to firm up for about an hour. When you take them out, the real fun begins: break apart the barks into pieces—kids of all ages would love to help with this part—and devour every last bite. Enjoy!
