As warm weather rolls in the grocery stores, farmers markets and your garden will be bursting with summer fruits. No summer fruit can hit the spot like a sweet strawberry. And with the kids out of school, whipping up a batch of marshmallow treats is always a favorite. So how about combining the two?
I made a batch of Chex Treats and mixed in a couple pieces of cup up angel food cake. After the bars cooled, I topped with a dollop of whipped cream and a spoonful of fresh strawberries. Guess what? The whole pan was scarfed down in the course of one afternoon. My family fell in love! This easy dessert would be a welcome addition to any summer event you have or weeknight dinner. Mix in some blueberries and have a easy and pretty 4th of July treat.
You will definitely want to keep this recipe on hand this summer. It is a perfect warm weather dessert.
