Dark Chocolate Almond Butter Cheerios Bars

Say hello to your new favorite snack: Dark Chocolate-Almond Butter Cheerios Bars! In this simple recipe, Cheerios cereal gets coated with an almond butter mixture and topped with a layer of rich dark chocolate for a tasty treat that has just the right amount of sweetness. As an added bonus, these bars require no oven time and only need 6 ingredients to come together. Here’s how to make them!

First, spray a 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray and line it with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on 2 sides. Measure out 6 cups of Cheerios cereal.

Next, in a 2-quart saucepan, heat honey, brown sugar and coconut oil over medium heat, stirring as it melts. Heat the mixture until boiling, then remove it from the heat and stir in almond butter. Once combined, pour the mixture into a large bowl and add the cereal, stirring until the cereal is completely coated. While it’s still warm, press the mixture into the prepared pan. Do this quickly! The mixture firms up fast.

Make the dark chocolate topping next by simply microwaving some dark chocolate chips in a microwavable bowl uncovered on High in 30-second intervals. Stir every 30 seconds until the mixture is completely melted and smooth. Spread evenly over the bars.

Let the bars cool until they are firm and the chocolate has set. To speed up the process, you can pop them in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. If you have leftovers, you can wrap individual bars tightly in plastic wrap and store them at room temperature.
