Cake Mix Waffles

Created January 10, 2017
Waffles don’t just have to be for breakfast. Cake mix waffles are an amazing dessert that’s fun for the whole family.
Cake Mix Waffles

If you’re looking for a fun dessert to make with the kids, try Cake Mix Waffles. It allows you to turn a simple cake mix into a fun, creative time in the kitchen with the kids. The best part is that you can customize them and everyone can have it their way.

Kids love to be creative in the kitchen and I think waffles are a fairly safe way to get the kids cooking. It’s so easy, all you need is Betty Crocker® cake mix and an imagination.

You start by mixing the cake mix according to the instructions on the box. Once your batter is ready, simply heat, and grease your waffle iron and pour in the batter. Be sure to not over fill the well or it will seep out the sides.

My waffle maker does two small waffles at once and cooks for about 3 minutes, but every maker is different so be sure to read the directions for your particular waffle iron. If you’re just not sure how long to cook them, take a peek after three minutes and if they are fluffy and firm there’re done.

Once they are cooked that’s when the fun begins. Put out a bunch of toppings like, chocolate chips, sprinkles, whipped cream, ice cream, nuts and syrups and let everyone pile on their favorite toppings.

I think a family Cake Mix Waffle night might just be the perfect way to end a weekend meal.
