Blackberry-Almond Oat Bars

Are you in need of something new to enjoy for breakfast? Or maybe an afternoon snack? Give these fruity oatmeal bars a try! Make them over the weekend. Then individually wrap the bars and store them in the fridge or freezer. They’ll be ready for you to take to work or for your kids to take to school. 

Here’s what you will need: Flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, sliced almonds, butter, blackberry fruit spread and blackberries.

These come together so quickly. Add the flour, oats and brown sugar to a large bowl.
Next, throw in the baking powder and salt.
Now use your fingers to work in the butter. You want the mixture to be crumbly and coarse.
Add almonds and stir.
Place half of the mixture into a baking dish; press down into an even base.
Spread the fruit spread evenly over the base and then top with blackberries.
Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture over the top and pat down lightly.
Bake 32 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in the pan and cut into squares. Yum!
