3 Ways to Use Bisquick

Introduction

That was what took me from the mountains of Colorado into the heart of the Betty Crocker Kitchens on a drizzly day in March. Invited by General Mills to host two of three online Bisquick cooking videos, I arrived at the company headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota not knowing what to expect. What I got was an opportunity to meet and work with a remarkably talented, dedicated and downright nice group of people.

It was a Tuesday morning when I arrived on set. We were filming in a beautiful studio kitchen tucked in the back corner of the Betty Crocker art studios. Morning had just cracked into the sky, but things inside the studio kitchens were already buzzing. Food stylists were preparing plates of the food we'd be cooking, carefully arranging spices in teensy bowls, wiping drips from the edges of baking dishes. Trays of blackberry shortcake were in the oven and the air smelled lemony and divine.

Bisquick video director, Jake Nyberg, greeted me at the door with a hefty handshake and big smile. "We're gonna have fun today," he said before turning back to the room full of crew members, putting the final touches of lighting and cameras. Sure enough, that's exactly what we had. A heck of a lot of fun. How can you not have a blast when surrounded by truly talented folk, making truly delectable food? It's pretty much a recipe for a lovely day, a new set of friends, and a brilliant group of cooking videos. It’s something I'm tremendously proud to have been a part of. Enjoy!
