Change up your banana bread routine by adding apples.
Without fail, every time winter rolls around, I’m excited to start baking with seasonal flavors. Bring on the pumpkin. Bring on the winter squash. And especially, bring on the apple!
We are apple eaters year round, but by the time mid-summer hits, you can tell that the apples have been sitting in a cold storage for months. So when I get the chance to buy fresh-from-the-tree apples in the fall, you can bet I’ll be stocking up on them and putting them in everything ‘til my stash runs out.
One day, I thought it would be fun to combine two of my favorite flavors, apples and bananas. I had some overripe bananas on hand and as usual, turned them into banana bread. I added Yoplait’s seasonal Apple Crisp Yogurt which makes the bread moist and added even more apple flavor by stirring in some chopped apples. Delicious!
