  Vegetable-Oil Spreads

Margarine products with less than 80 percent fat (vegetable oil) by weight usually are labeled as vegetable-oil spreads. These products, like margarine, can be used for a variety of purposes, from spreading to cooking to baking. Vegetable-oil spreads are sold in sticks (for all-purpose use, including some baking if more than 65 percent fat), in tubs (to use as a table spread--do not use for baking) and as liquid squeeze spreads (to use for topping vegetables and popcorn or for basting--do not use for baking).
