Peppercorns
The berry of the pepper plant, which is processed to produce 3 types of peppercorn: black, white and green. Black is the most common and most strongly flavored of the three; it's slightly hot with a hint of sweetness. Peppercorns are available whole, cracked and coarsely or finely ground.
