  Pears, Anjou

Anjou pears have less of a traditional pear shape, being more squat with a short stem. The skin is yellow-green to light green, depending on the stage of ripeness. Red Anjou pears have red skins. When ripe, Anjou pears are juicy with a sweet-spicy flavor. They are good eaten fresh and in salads and desserts.
