  Nectarines

Nectarines are a sweet and succulent fruit with a texture that's firmer than that of a peach, which is a relative. The skin of ripe nectarines is golden yellow with red blushes. They're most flavorful when eaten at room temperature. Well-washed nectarines need not be peeled before eating.

How to Buy

Choose plumb, slightly firm fruit. Avoid those that are shriveled, bruised or green at the stem.

How to Store

Ripen nectarines at room temperature for a couple of days. Refrigerate ripe nectarines and use within 5 days.
