Allspice
The dried, dark brown, pea-size berries of a tree native to the West Indies and South America. Allspice can be purchased whole or ground. The flavor tastes like a combination of clove and nutmeg.
How to Use
Cakes, cookies, fruits, jerk seasoning, pickling, pies, poaching fish, spinach and stews.
How to Store
Store in a cool, dark, dry place.
