"This recipe was inspired by a favorite cookie recipe from my grandmother. Her Dutch almond cookies used almond paste in butter cookie dough, and were delicious but rather fussy to prepare. When I added almond paste to Betty Crocker’s Oatmeal Cookie Mix I was delighted to find that I could make a similar but streamlined cookie, with the bonus of the yummy oatmeal cookie flavor to complement the almonds. To dress things up a bit, I added a super-simple icing with a decorative almond on top. I think Grandma would be proud.”
